Should I Link Exchange

Link exchange is very helpful in building valuable business contacts and getting better rank with search engines.  There are many free link exchange sites on the internet.  Link exchange is beneficial.  When having the link in the body of the actual text content, you are essentially recommending that the visitor visit that website, even if the visitor isn’t conscious of it.  Thus, this type of link exchange is highly attractive to a potential link partner.  Reciprocal link exchange is not dead, if you provide links for the benefit of your visitors.  Many people believe that Google and Yahoo have already started penalizing web sites that are involved in link exchanges on a large scale, but we do not know the extent of it. 

Links categoriess or directories will need to be organized with a comprehensive title which will have keywords that are relevant to your site.  Do not create a title tag that has nothing to do with your site and does not have relevant keywords.   The site should be optimized for your chosen keyword or keywords.  Getting links from webpages that contain your main keyword in the page title is extremely powerful and is something many people often overlook.  Your link title should be brief and free of long sentences.

Quality is better than quantity.  When acquiring links you don't want to links to increase to quickly, this is not natural to the search engines, the best way is to have them organic and increase at a slow pace. Remember that value and quality are more important than volume of links.
